Project summary:
The project will offer new opportunities which will encourage young people, able and disabled, to get more physically active in their local area. Activities will include water sports, outdoor recreation, countryside and educational activities.

There will be something for everyone and activities will be delivered through local providers. We aim to remove the perception among local young people that activities are reserved for those visiting the area (e.g. tourists). By enabling participation and training we will assist local young people to take part regularly, form new local clubs and live more active lives.

Consultation with youth groups has already begun to find out what local young people are interested in doing. This has lead to the choice of activities below, with taster days starting in August 2006.

Project activities:
Canoeing, sailing, kayaking, and surfing.
Horse riding, cycling, orienteering, walking and rock climbing.
Activity through conservation and nature awareness.
